Hard as it is to believe, there is just one Test match this week, an Elgon Cup match between neighbours Kenya and Uganda.
The referee for that match is Marius Jonker of South Africa who has refereed many top matches in his life and was named South Africa's referee of the month for June.
The cup is named after Mount Elgon which is in both Kenya and Uganda, two countries that have been playing rugby against each other since 1958 though the cup was introduced only in 2004. The women's teams also compete for the Elgon Cup.
In SANZAR lands there is the final round of Super Rugby with knock-out places still to be decided.
The one certainty is that the Waratahs end top and have a home semifinal. Should they win that they will have a home final – regardless of what the other 14 do to each other.
There is a sudden change in the Sup Rugby appointments. Craig Joubert was boarding his flight to Sydney, appointed to referee the derby in Brisbane when he was told not to turn left at Sydney but keep going straight on. He has been switched to take the crucial match in Christchurch.
