Europe's new competitions start with weekend with Nigel Owens to get the European Cup started on Friday while the Challenge Cup starts on Thursday with Ian Davies to referee.
In New Zealand and South Africa it's time for semifinals in the major competitions. In South Africa there are also finals as the domestic season reaches climaxes.
In Brisbane there will be the playing of the third Bledisloe Cup match for this year with the big trophy already settled in New Zealand which seems to be its home. New Zealand will still want to win after their Johannesburg defeat, though really because they always want to win. Craig Joubert will referee that one.
