Craig Joubert is very much a wandering referee and this week he will be in Chicago when the USA play the All Blacks at the Soldiers Field, the home ground of gridiron club Chicago Bears.

The ground seats 61 500 and it is sold out. There is great excitement for the match, and Joubert =is the referee. In successive Saturdays his itinerary has been Brisbane, Cape Town, Chicago, Cardiff, Genoa and Cardiff. Then he is allowed back to Durban to his wife and family.

In Australia, the inaugural National Rugby Cup reaches its first Final.

Generally the Northern Hemisphere is girding itself for Southern Invasion which makes its start this week. There is a southern Test between Namibia and Germany in Windhoek with Marius Jonker to referee it.
