Rugby Academy moves
The Rugby Performance Centre’s Referee Academy is moving from Riebeeck West to Parow with its base at the NNK rugby club with its excellent facilities.
Just recently Jason Jaftha, one of the Academy’s students, was given the final match at the 2008 Craven Week in Pretoria where he refereed outstandingly well.
Freek Burger, the former Test referee and manager of South African referees, is in charge of the Academy which remains a part of Alan Zondagh’s Rugby Performance Centre. The move is for logistical reasons.
The course being offered runs for 10 months and aims at equipping students for a career in professional refereeing.
