USA refs appointed

Two USA referees have been appointed to Test matches in November, a man and a woman.
 
Chris Henshall has been appointed to referee the Test on 26 November between Canada and Russia while Dana Teagarden will referee the France vs Canada Women’s Test on November 18.
 
IRB Referee Manager Paddy O’Brien appointed Henshall after a strong showing during the Americas Rugby Championships in October. Henshall, along with assistant referees Tom Lyons and Davey Ardrey, make up the first all-USA team of three appointed to an IRB Test since 2005.
 
Dana Teagarden, who is based in Germany but still a USA referee, will travel to Dijon in France for the France vs Canada Women’s Test on 18 November. This invitation came from the French Rugby Federation after her performance at the Women’s Nations Cup this year.
 
The USA’s National Panel Manager Richard Every said: “We are extremely pleased with these appointments as it supports our referee development. However, this is just the beginning of what we anticipate will be a long history of new USA Rugby Test Referees. Chris and Dana work tirelessly toward reaching the top, as many of our referees do, and we wish them, Tom and Davey the very best.”
