Rolland withdraws from Twickenham

Spreadbury flies to Paris

Alain Rolland of Ireland damaged a calf muscle at Twickenham last Saturday. He has withdrawn for this Saturday, his place taken by compatriot Alan Lewis.

Rolland damaged when touch judge for England-South Africa. His place was taken by Test referee Wayne Barnes who was the No.4 at the match.

Lewis was to have refereed in Paris where France play Argentina. He has been switched to Twickenham and Tony Spreadbury moved up from touch judge to referee.

Barnes is again a replacement, this time taking Spreadbury's place on the line.

In announcing the changes Paddy O'Brien the IRB's refereeing boss, said: "Can I take this opportunity to congratulate Alain Rolland for making a very mature decision early in the week to allow the changes to be made when by Friday he may have been cleared to referee the fixture?"
