TRANSFER NEWS: BlitzBok star Muller du Plessis will return to the Sharks, the franchise announced.

Du Plessis has signed a two-year contract with the Sharks.

The 23-year-old returns to the Durban franchise for his second stint with Union.

He first joined the Sharks straight out of school and represent the union’s youth teams.

Du Plessis will join the outgoing BlitzBoks head coach Neil Powell, who will take up the role of Director of Rugby at the franchise.

The former Junior Springbok has played for the Blitzboks since 2018, most recently helping the team win gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Du Plessis’  signature is certainly good news for the Sharks, who are reportedly set to lose the services of centre Jeremy Ward.

According to RMC Sport, Ward made the trip earlier this month to France to join the Parisian club, ahead of the 2022-23 Top 14 season.
