The Nations Cup organizers confirmed that France have been handed a 28-0 win over Fiji.

Even though the organizers emphasised that the cancellation is not Fiji’s fault,  they revealed the Pacific Islanders ‘is primarily responsible for a match not taking place”.

Thus based on competitions rules “a 28-0 victory will be awarded to the opposition that could have played the match,’

Two members of the Fiji squad, including captain Semi Radradra,  have tested positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus last weekend.

Fiji are set to face Italy next weekend in Round two of the Nations Cup tournament.

“We wish the affected Fiji players well as they continue their recovery and are working closely with the Fiji team, to ensure that they are able to field a competitive team against Italy,” the official statement read.

“Further updates will follow once additional rounds of testing have been completed,”
