'Personal reasons': France captain Dupont to miss training

NEWS: France captain Antoine Dupont will miss training this weekend for “personal reasons,” a Les Bleus coaching staff source said on Thursday.

Scrumhalf Dupont, 26, will return to the set-up on Sunday, a week before France start the defence of their Six Nations title with a trip to Italy.

“Antoine will be absent from camp for the next two days for personal reasons but will come back on Sunday,” the source said.

Head coach Fabien Galthie has called up Lyon’s Baptiste Couilloud as cover with uncapped Nolann Le Garrec the only fit scrumhalf in the squad after Leo Coly was ruled out for at least a month with a thigh issue.

Meanwhile, next weekend’s other Round One fixtures will see Wales host Ireland in Cardiff and England up against Scotland at Twickenham.
