Sale Sharks face flyhalf concern

DISCIPLINARY UPDATE: Sale Sharks will be without the services of South African flyhalf Robert du Preez after he was suspended for three weeks.

Du Preez was sent off during the Sharks’ 25-22 win over Gloucester on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was handed a red card in the 23rd minute for a tip tackle, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.18.

Du Preez appeared in front of an online independent disciplinary panel on Tuesday and ‘accepted the charge’

Consequently, he was given a three-week suspension by the panel comprising Ian Unsworth QC (chair) with Mitch Read and Tony Wheat.

Du Preez will miss three Premiership fixtures against Worcester Warriors, Leicester Tigers and Bath.
