Three-week ban for Bok

DISCIPLINARY NEWS:  Tom Penny (Newcastle Falcons) and Rohan Janse van Rensburg (Sale Sharks) each appeared before an online independent disciplinary panel on Wednesday.

Penny was sent off by referee Anthony Woodthorpe in the 49th minute of the match between Newcastle Falcons and Wasps on Saturday, October 2.

This was for contact with the eye area, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.12.

Penny accepted the charge and was given a two-match suspension by the independent disciplinary panels comprising Sir James Dingemans with Mitch Read and Leon Lloyd.

He is free to play again on October 19. In addition, Penny was given a reprimand in relation to a separate charge brought under RFU Rule 5.12 for disrespecting the authority of the match official.

van Rensburg was sent off by referee Craig Maxwell-Keys in the 53rd minute of the match between Sale Sharks and Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, October 3.

This was for dangerous tackling contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13.

The player accepted the charge and was given a three-match suspension by the same independent disciplinary panel. He is free to play again on October 25.
