The Cup of Heroes

Many dream about that moment, but few ever get to experience it. For some, it's the crowning glory in their careers.

This film centres around a single question: What is it like to win the Currie Cup.

We spoke to a number of players who've lifted the trophy throughout the years, as well as two who have yet to win it – Springbok Siya Kolisi and rising First Division star, Rosco Speckman.

Naas Botha has won the trophy a record nine times, while Theuns Stoffberg lifted it for three different provinces in the 1970s and 1980s, the only player to date who can claim that.

Pat Lambie, Demetri Catrikilis, Lucas Floors and CJ van der Linde share their personal thoughts on the day they got to lift the trophy.

The film reminds us of the importance of the Currie Cup, and the incredible history surrounding the oldest provincial rugby tournament in the world.
