Coetzer's big move
The weekend of upsets on the field – which saw both the Crusaders and Sharks lose their unbeaten records – also made an impact on the standings in our ‘readers versus staff’ prediction game.
Some of those in the top half, including defending champion John Granger, did their cause no good with very low scores – collecting a meagre three points for the weekend.
Current leader Johan Greyling barely did better, with only four points on a weekend that saw a few dramatic changes in the standings.
The big mover was Phil Coetzer, who went from fifth to joint third with the weekend’s top score – seven points.
Steve Farrell kept his hopes alive with six points as he closed the gap on Greyling to just 10 points.
However, Granger dropped from second to joint third – as Farrell edged past him and Coetzer joined him on the standings.
Down the bottom end it is becoming an equally tense race to avoid last place – with Jan de Koning still propping up the bottom, Hennie van Staden just two points ahead and Rob Peters not out of trouble yet either.
