Every now and then, the referee finds himself – quite literally – in the thick of it all. Whether it’s being shoved by a defending player, being pulled into a ruck or being inadvertently tackled.

Do you remember the likes of Nigel Owens and Wayne Barnes being shoved by players who claimed they were in the way? Or what about the infamous Springboks vs All Blacks Test where referee Dave McHugh was attacked by a lunatic?
