Player Ratings: Wobbly Wallabies

Despite being on the wrong side of the result, Australia managed to outscore their opponents four tries to three but their goal kicking left much to be desired.

We rate the Wallabies!

15 Israel Folau

An absolute menace on attack as he carved holes in England's defence, however, he remains vulnerable on defence.

8/10

14 Dane Haylett-Petty

While no-one will question his work rate on attack, it will be his defensive duties that will come under the microscope.

6/10

13 Tevita Kuridrani

The usual brutal bashing by the big centre, although he let his team down with a few selfish moments.

5/10

12 Samu Kerevi

Should be very pleased with his International debut, although, he probably would have wanted to make an even bigger impact.

6/10

11 Rob Horne

Made plenty of metres with his limited amount of touches but forced to leave the field early.

5/10

10 Bernard Foley

There is no doubt that his vision and decision-making is something to behold. He was let down by some poor kicking on the night, despite a steady performance.

5/10

9 Nick Phipps

Stuck the basics and his service was to his usual standard. Nothing too spectacular from the scrumhalf.

6/10

8 David Pocock

Was not himself on the night as he was outplayed in every aspect.

4/10

7 Michael Hooper

Industrious performance by the ever reliable flank. His brace was well-deserved for his all-round effort.

8/10

6 Scott Fardy

Steady performance in an under-performing loose trio as he attempted to put his body on the line.

6/10

5 Rob Simmons

A fairly low-key performance by the big man that was cut short by injuring his back.

5/10

4 Rory Arnold

Not the debut he would have wanted. Just could not live up to the hype surrounding his massive frame.

4/10

3 Greg Holmes

Below average on attack and performed decently on defence.

4/10

2 Stephen Moore (captain)

Played second fiddle to his opposite number and had no answers to England's dominance.

3/10

1 Scott Sio

An enormous defensive effort was overshadowed by being dominated at scrum time.

4/10

Replacements:

16 Tatafu Polota-Nau (on for Moore, 57)

Other than touching the ball on four occasions to feed the line-out, he helped to stabilise the scrum.

4/10

17 James Slipper (on for Sio, 65)

Brought some grunt to the scrum area.

4/10

18 Sekope Kepu (on for Holmes, 57)

Only contribution came at scrum time where he assisted in settling things down after being dominated.

4/10

19 James Horwill (on for Simmons, 25)

Did what he needed to do after coming on so early in the match but did not set the stage alight.

6/10

20 Dean Mumm (on for Arnold, 48)

Relatively ineffective for his time on the park.

4/10

21 Sean McMahon (on for Fardy, 68)

Not enough time to be rated.

22 Nick Frisby (on for Phipps, 78)

Not enough time to be rated.

23 Christian Leali'ifano (on for Horne, 28)

Hid himself nicely on the field and seemed to avoid any and all physical contact.

2/10
