Players Ratings: A Scottish revival
Scotland were following the same path as last week – trailing 14-20 at the break.
However, six second-half penalties by Greig Laidlaw spared the Scotts the embarrassment of suffering a loss at the Murrayfield.
The win put the side in a confident position with England visiting on February 24.

15 Stuart Hogg
Didn’t have all the swagger we usually see. Missed tackle in the first French try but made one trademark break and had a decent kicking game.

Didn’t really get into the game but didn’t make any mistakes. Still well short of his best.

Ran an excellent line to score Scotland’s second try and was a real threat in attack throughout. Unreliable in defence at times.

Flawless from the kicking tee which ultimately won Scotland the match. Only real mistake was that he should’ve dived for the ball to prevent Terry Thomas’ second try.

Would’ve looked to make an impression after a poor display from Cornell Du Preez last week but looked like he was lacking in confidence.

Made good yards with his dynamic running style and work rate was second to none.

Quiet game by his standards. Calm leadership qualities which was much-needed with frantic Russell at 10 but made little impact in the ruck.

Very aggressive ball carrier and made some decent breaks. Should be enough to secure a place in the starting line-up.
