Readers' Team of the Week: Results are out
OPINION: Here it is, the results of the readers’ votes for the South African Super Rugby Team for Round 13.
By far the most popular player was Lions hooker Malcolm Marx, who received 93 percent of the votes cast for the position of hooker.
Other popular players include Jean-Luc du Preez (Sharks) 88 percent, Kwagga Smith (Lions) 77 percent, Curwin Bosch (Sharks) 72 percent and Harold Vorster (Lions) 70 percent.
Players nominated for the ‘replacement’ bench – those who came on as reserves and impressed – include Shaun Reynolds (six votes), Dylan Smith (five), Tyrone Green (five), Marnus Schoeman (four), Mzamo Majola (two), Embrose Papier (two), Kobus van Wyk, Johannes Jonker, Jaco Visagie and Cameron Wright (all one vote).
Players who – according to the readers – performed admirably in European competitions include Vincent Koch (six votes), Michael Rhodes, Marcell Coetzee and Schalk Burger (one vote each).
