OPINION: Here it is – the readers’ choices for the best South African players in Super Rugby.

It is not a surprise that the only SA team that won, the Lions, dominates your selections.

Most votes went to Malcolm Marx (Lions, 90 percent), Kwagga Smith (Lions, 89 percent), Warren Whiteley (Lions, 88 percent), Carlu Sadie (Lions, 84 percent) and Aphiwe Dyantyi (Lions, 83 percent).

Bench players who made the biggest impact: Marnus Schoeman (Lions) and Siyamthanda Kolisi (Stormers) received the most votes; while Jean-Luc du Preez (Sharks), Justin Philips (Stormers), Steven Kitshoff (Stormers), Franco Naude (Lions) and Cameron Wright (Sharks) were also mentioned.
