Team of the Week: Fast and Furious

The Hurricanes and the Highlanders have three players each in our selection this week, while the Crusaders are represented by one player.

The Reds, Jaguares and the Lions have two players each in our XV this week. The Stormers and the Bulls are also represented.

In the backline, we have Jordie Barrett, Filipo Daugunu and Johannes Engelbrecht in the back three. Rob Thompson and Vince Aso are our choices for the midfield.

Handre Pollard is our No.10 with Aaron Smith at No.9.

In the pack, we have Jordan Taufua, Ardie Savea and Albertus Smith in the back row. In the second row, we have Tom Franklin and Guido Petti Pagadizaval.

Our front row consists of Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, Malcolm Marx and Jean-Pierre Smith.

Team of the Week – Round 11:

15 – Jordie Barrett (Hurricanes)

He was devastating on attack against the Sunwolves. He cut through the Japanese side's defence on a number of occasions and he scored a try as well.

14 – Filipo Daugunu (Reds)

He caused the Lions plenty of problems out wide with a number of powerful runs.

13 – Rob Thompson (Highlanders)

He put in a great defensive display at Loftus Versfeld in the win against the Bulls. He was also elusive with ball in hand.

12 – Vince Aso (Hurricanes)

The centre absolutely tormented the Sunwolves in Wellington. He beat a number of defenders and made a number of clean breaks.

11 – Johannes Engelbrecht (Stormers)

He made good use of the space out wide against the Melbourne Rebels and he was solid on defence. He scored two of his team's tries in the win.

10 – Handre Pollard (Bulls)

It was a complete performance from the Bok flyhalf against the Highlanders. He was dangerous with ball in and he racked up the running metres. He was also physical on defence.

9 – Aaron Smith (Highlanders)

It was another commanding performance from the All Black scrumhalf. His service was excellent against the Bulls and he made good decisions as well.

8 – Jordan Taufua (Crusaders)

The man was amazing on defence against the Brumbies. He also gave the Canberra side plenty of headaches when he ran at them.

7 – Ardie Savea (Hurricanes)

Another strong performance on defence and he was a hard man to bring down with ball in hand against the Sunwolves.

6 – Albertus Smith (Lions)

He did his best in a losing cause against the Reds. He showed what an amazing ball carrier he is once again.

5 – Tom Franklin (Highlanders)

He epitomised the Highlanders' awesome defensive effort against the Bulls. He made some serious metres with the ball.

4 – Guido Petti Pagadizaval (Jaguares)

He was outstanding in the line-outs in the Jaguares' historic win against the Blues. He also took his side over the gain line on a number of occasions with some powerful carries.

3 – Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro (Jaguares)

He was part of a powerful Jaguares pack that laid the platform for victory against the Blues. He did a lot of work on attack and on defence and he was a dominant figure in the scrums.

2 – Malcolm Marx (Lions)

He is the best hooker in the world and he showed why against the Reds. His work rate was outstanding on attack and on defence and he scored two tries.

He lifted his game to another level against the Lions. He was hard to miss with ball in hand and he scored a five-pointer. He also showed a lot of aggression on defence.
