Team of the Week: Making a statement

Our Team of the Week this week features three players from the Sharks after their convincing win over the Waratahs. The Jaguares and Chiefs also have three players each in our selection.

Other teams represented in our XV are the Reds, Crusaders, Sunwolves, Stormers and Hurricanes.

In the back three, we have Damian Mckenzie, Ramiro Moyano and Kenki Fukuoka. Our midfield consists of Samu Kerevi and Ryan Crotty.

The 19-year-old Curwin Bosch is at flyhalf and at scrumhalf we have Tawera Kerr-Barlow.

In the pack, Leonardo Senatore, Ardie Savea and Philip van der Walt make up our back row, while in the second row we have Brodie Retallick and Eben Etzebeth.

Our front row is made up of Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Agustin Creevy and Tendai Mtawarira.

Team of the week – Round Three:

15 – Damian McKenzie (Chiefs)

He kept the Hurricanes on their toes when he had the ball. He also made good decisions around the field.

14 – Ramiro Moyano (Jaguares)

The wing tore the Lions' defence to shreds on a few occasions and he scored a try as well.

13 – Samu Kerevi (Reds)

His brute strength and power got the Reds over the advantage line on numerous occasions against the Crusaders.

12 – Ryan Crotty (Crusaders)

His experience in the midfield was vital for the New Zealanders in Brisbane. His skills, particularly his passing, was up there with the best this weekend.

11 – Kenki Fukuoka (Sunwolves)

Scored two tries in the match against the Cheetahs. He was a menace out wide for the home side.

10 – Curwin Bosch (Sharks)

Scored 27 of his team's 37 points in the win against the Waratahs. The 19-year-old filled Pat Lambie's boots nicely.

9 – Tawera Kerr-Barlow (Chiefs)

The All Black was brilliant in the wet weather against the Hurricanes. His tactical game took a lot of pressure off Aaron Cruden.

8 – Leonardo Senatore (Jaguares)

He made some strong carries when he was on the field against the Lions and was a key part in the Argentinians' success.

7 – Ardie Savea (Hurricanes)

He put in some big hits on defence and made his presence felt at the breakdowns.

6 – Philip van der Walt (Sharks)

He is probably one the best forwards in South Africa at the moment. His work rate was out of this world against the Waratahs.

5 – Brodie Retallick (Chiefs)

He is the best in the world in his position and he showed why against the Hurricanes.

4 – Eben Etzebeth (Stormers)

He had a stormer of a game against the Southern Kings.

3 – Jeffery Toomaga-Allen (Hurricanes)

He did well in the set piece and put a lot of hard work in open play against the Chiefs.

2 – Agustin Creevy (Jaguares)

He certainly led by example against the Lions. He carried the ball like a man possessed and racked up a number of running metres.

He was impressive on defence against the Waratahs and he scrummaged well.
