'They're ruining the game'

The Rugby Pod discuss players wanting to be paid more

On The Rugby Pod this week, the issue of players asking for more money in their new contracts was a hot topic.

Joe Marler spoke about the need for there to be a cap on how much you can pay one player.

This is in light of fears around clubs year-on-year continuing to lose money financially in the Premiership, aside from Exeter Chiefs, Andy Goode commented.

Goode and Marler both spoke in depth about how increasing players’ wages was not sustainable when clubs are spending so much on players.

Goode complimented Marler for saying that clubs shouldn’t offer players more money than they can afford to pay.
