With the first Test of the 2021 Springboks versus B&I Lions series to take place at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, we thought it is fitting to look back at what happened in the corresponding match 12 years ago.

The Springboks had to hold off a massive comeback in the opening Test of the 2009 tour against the British and Irish Lions.
