WATCH as we bring you a couple of bizarre kicks from years gone by – one in Ireland and one in New Zealand.

The first is Argentinean legend Felipe Contepomi – in a Leinster versus Connacht game – where the infamous Galway gale was in full cry.

Contepomi’s penalty kick sails through the uprights, only to be blown right back at him.

The second was in a Heartland match between Mid-Canterbury and North Otago – where the restart was not only blown back over the kicker’s head, but kept travelling over his own dead-ball line.

In both cases, the referee made an unexpected ruling.
