Cape Schools Week starts this week

.The 14 Cape Schools Week takes place at Selborne College in East London, starting on 29 June.

The week was started by Ray Connellan of Wynberg Boys’ High in 1980, deciding to bring Western Cape and Eastern Cape schools together on the rugby field – and in the cross-country.

The week has taken place every second year since 1980.

Dale of King William’s Town, Queen’s Selborne, Wynberg, SACS and Rondebosch have been at every week. Grens of East London and Bechule Tech will be attending for the first time. There are also two invitation teams – the FNB Invitation XV and the Catfish Invitation XV.

The FNB Invitation XV is a combination of two keen rivals near East London –Zweliyandile and Ntsokotha. The Catfish Invitation XV is a combination of players from Selborne and Dale.
