College beat Hilton
This was a disappointing match, with very little quality rugby produced by either side.
The first half was dreadful, with neither team able to hold onto the ball or make more than a pass or two without fumbling it. There was plenty of passion but little finesse. The only score in this dreary period was a penalty to College.
The second half started in much the same manner, characterised once again by error and indecisiveness, but suddenly, in a purple patch, College scored three tries. This period of ten minutes was by far their best of the match and put the result well beyond Hilton’s reach.
Then, as though embarrassed by their success, College retreated into their shells and allowed a game Hilton to dominate the final ten minutes. Hilton’s reward for their ascendancy was an unconverted try right on the final whistle.
