EP CD open Day Three with a win
It was a dingdong start to Day Three of the 2010 Craven Week in Welkom, as Eastern Province Country Districts and Namibia took it in turns to score – with EP CD eventually winning 27-18.
Namibia played with the freshening breeze in the first half and for a long time there was no scoring till outside centre Berto Miller went over for a try and Namibia led 7-0 at the break.
The Eastern Province boys struck back soon after the restart to make the score 7-7 early in the second half.
In the second half, Country Districts had the wind at their backs as the score went up 10-7, 10-10 and then the Eastern Cape side stretched away with three tries till the Namibians got a try right at the end.
Ryan Dugmore’s second try came from a penalty which he tapped, caught the Namibians off-guard and raced over 20 metres to score at the poles.
