Griffons choose five teams

The Griffons of Northern Free State have chosen five teams to attend the various weeks coming up soon.

The Craven Week and the Academy Week are for Under-18 teams. The Grant Khomo Week is for Under-16 teams. The Under-19 team takes part in the provincial competition rather than at a week.

The Sportakademie (Sports Academy), which has strong representation, is attached to Harmony Mine in Virginia.

Five of the Craven Week players for Pretoria this year were at the 2007 Craven Week in Stellenbosch – Peet Marais, RJ Liebenberg, Branco du Preez, Eugene Cunha and Wilmar Groenewald.

At last year’s Craven Week the Griffons beat Eastern Province and Boland but lost to South Western Districts. This year at the Bondedag, they lost 28-26 to the Valke.
