The squad in Australasia
There is a big squad of Springboks in Australia at present for their historic first encounter with the Pacific Islanders and their two away Tri-Nations matches.
We look at their schools and anything special that happened to them at school.
There are four players from Paarl Gim, three of them centres at school. Of the three centres, two did not go to Craven Week and the third was in a Western Province Academy side. At the time each province had two teams at Craven Week.
Of the 30 players on this list, nine did not go to Craven Week at all, nine did not make South African Schools and 12 played for South African Schools.
We often speak loosely of SA Schools "producing" x-number of players or a school producing x-number of players. It may just be that the players who did not go to Craven Week are more interesting.
