Venues for Three Years of Youth Weeks
SARU has announced the venues for its Youth Weeks in 2020, 2021 and 2022. In all SARU has nine Youth Weeks – all popular and well supported.
The weeks for boys are the Under-18 Craven Week, the Under-18 Academy Week, the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week, the Under-13 Craven Week, the LSEN Week for Learners with Special Educational Needs, the Iqhawe Week, which is a developmental week for Under-15 players from the 14 unions and a joint venue of SARU and the SA Rugby Legends Association, and the Under-17 Sevens tournament. There are two weeks for girls, an Under-18 and an Under-16 week each year.
Its flagship, the Under-18 Craven Week will be in Port Elizabeth, Krugersdorp and Rondebosch in 2020, 2021, 2022. In 2020, the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth will host both the Craven Week and the Academy Week. In 2021, the two will be hosted by Hoërskool Monument in Krugersdorp, one of South Africa’s very best rugby schools. Then in 2022 the two will be hosted by Rondebosch Boys’ High, a great school on the Cape Peninsula, not far from Newlands.
Jeppe High School for Boys remains a popular venue for Youth Weeks and next year will host the Grant Khomo Week for Under-16s and the Under-13 Craven Week in 2020 and the two girls weeks – for Under-18s and Under-16s – in 2020 and 2021.
