A classic Wellington clash
With two-consecutive wins under their belts, Weltevrede coach Gerrad Samuels is praying the weather plays its part for what is sure to be a highly entertaining encounter.
"The conditions will determine the style of play and we hope the rain stays away so that we can showcase a running game of rugby. If it happens that the rain falls, it would become a battle of the forwards and the game would tighten up a bit," Samuels said.
Weltevrede are confident of a positive result and will not be changing a winning formula – a formula which has handed them the victories over Bergrivier.
Bergrivier coach Charlton Solomons – who will be coaching his first Classic Clash encounter – is feeling nervously optimistic about the match and is hopeful the result will be positive so that it can answer many questions.
"We are very nervous about the match, especially me, because it is my first derby. It is a massive occasion for the community at large because the field is packed with family members and friends.
"We have lost the previous two derby matches, so it is only natural for questions to be asked but hopefully, we end up on the winning side and all those questions can be answered," Solomons said.
Bergrivier are currently sitting on a win percentage of 95 percentage, 10 percent higher than their pre-season goal of an 85 percent win ratio.
