Bishops beat SACS 26-7 at SACS in a match that may date back to 1862, making it one of the oldest rugby fixtures in the world..

Bishops were good value for their 26 – 7 victory over old rivals SACS on the Memorial Field on Saturday.

Both sides produced some sparkling rugby in the cold, wet and muddy conditions but it was the visitors with their superior pace out wide who were able to convert pressure into points.

SACS produced a very committed display and their forwards mauled well and contested for the ball well. Scrumhalf Mark Spence got the ball away well and his fellow backs tackled well.

For a side without five regulars, including captain, Kevin Dolley, the team were more than competitive and Bishops had to work hard for three of their four tries.
