Boland are the Champions
The Boland Under-15 are the 2019 Iqhawe Week champions after a decisive 29-10 victory over Griquas in the final match at Paarl Gim on Thursday, 26 September 2019.
Boland flourished in the first half, scoring four tries and leading 26-5 at the break. The second half was much more modest, Boland kicking a penalty goal to a try by Griquas. Boland ended the tournament unbeaten.
The Sharks of KwaZulu-Natal also won all three of their matches, beating last year’s champions Eastern Province 26-15 on Day 3.
The Leopards had a big win over the Pumas but other matches were close. Border won by one point against Western Province who came back strongly in the second half, Free State beat the Blue Bulls by two points while the Griffons and the Valke drew 17-all. The Golden Lions’ victory over South Western Districts was not as comfortable as 31-17 suggests as there was only one try difference – four tries to three.
