Boland Beat Italy

On a lovely afternoon in Wellington Boland Under-19 beat the touring Italy Under-18 22-20 at Boland Stadium.

There are four Under-18 teams touring South Africa at present. England, France and Wales will join with SA Schools in a quadrangular tournament, The fourth team is Italy Under-18, coached by Massimo Brunello, who arrived in Cape Town on 2 August 2013 with 30 players for four matches though without playing against another international team.

Boland dominated the first half and ended it leading 8-0. In the second half the Italians seemed to have Boland's measure and two tries in the first 10 minutes by Lorenzo Masato and Matteo Dal Sie and a conversion and a penalty goal by Matteo Minozzi put them 15-8 ahead of the home side. But then two tries by the home pack  brought victory. while  Nicolò Broglia scored a late try for Italy.
