Boland choose for Youth Weeks
Boland have chosen their three teams for the Youth Weeks in 2015 – the Under-18 Craven Week, the Academy Week and the Grant Khomo Week.
Dates
Craven Week: 13-18 July 2015 at Paul Roos in Stellenbosch
Academy Week: 6-9 July 2014 at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark
Grant Khomo Week: 6-9 July in Oudtshoorn
Last year's Craven Week was not a good one for Boland. They lost 38-23 to Griquas and 30-24 to Valke before beating Limpopo 56-24 on the last day. This year's team play Limpopo in the first round of the 2015 Craven Week.
The Boland side has three back from last year's Craven Week – fullback/wing Earl Douwrie, lock Stephan Fourie and loose forward Benna van der Westhuizen who first went to the Academy Week and then went to the Craven Week as a replacement.
Boland, who were the hosts of the Academy Week in 2014 had two teams at the week. Seven of them, including Benna van der Westhuizen, are in this year's Craven Week side – eighthman Evan Booysen, flank Steyn Olivier, lock Jaco Abel, props Denver Prins and PW Koeglenberg, and scrumhalf Frans Hugo.
Unusually this year Lutzville and Labori each have two players in the side – Shane Bezuidenhout and Ruan Terblanché of Labori in Paarl and Etienne van Dyk and Frans Hugo of Lutzville up on the Olifants River.
The two Worcester schools – HTS Drostdy and Worcester Gim – each have four players in the Craven Week side, though they have four players in the Academy side and another two in the Craven Week side.
