Brakke and Tiere in Classic Clash
On Saturday at Hoërskool Brackenfell, there is an FNB Classic Clash between the home side and visitors from Parow, Hoërskool Tygerberg, the Brakke against the Tiere.
Both of these schools are in Cape Town's northern suburbs, Brackenfell further north that Tygerberg, Tygerberg an older school in an older suburb.
Both are schools keen on their rugby. Both are happy to take on the 'big' schools whenever they get a chance. There is a difference in that Tygerberg tend to win more matches against the big school.
In welcoming Tygerberg, the principal of Brackenfell has this to say:
"The success of the Interschools depends as much on you, the spectator, as it depends on all the participants. Therefore we ask you to support your team passionately, but without any malice. Let us allow the referees to do their job to the best of their abilities. There will certainly be mistakes as they are only human."
The season so far
Of their 17 matches, Brackenfell won five The strongest side they played was Outeniqua of George who beat them 94-7.
Of the 18 matches Tygerberg played against South African opposition, they won seven. Top sides that they beat are Paul Roos, Drostdy and Rondebosch. Other strong opposition they played are Noord-Kaap, Centurion, Waterkloof, Paarl Gim and SACS.
