Brakkies host Tiere

Two strong Northern Suburbs teams, Hoërskool Tygerberg and Hoërskool Brackenfell, meet at Brackenfell on Saturday in an Interschools which the older Tygerberg has tended to dominate. Not that that will diminish the enthusiasm for the occasion.

There is more than just rugby though rugby will be the big activity ending with the climax of the 1st XV match. There is also golf, target shooting, tabletennis, chess, crosscountry, netball and hockey. The schools choose a glamorous Mr and Miss each and on Thursday evening there is the Big Brag, this year at Tygerberg in Parow.

Season so Far

Brackenfell have played 17 matches, winning 11 and losing six. Their best result was beating SACS 31-26 early in the season.

Tygerberg have played 19, winning 14 and losing five. Tygerberg have tended to play tougher opponents than Brackenfell and their five defeats include four against Top 20 schools. They were on the FNB Top 20 for a while earlier in the season. Their best win was probably beating Noord-Kaap 25-10.
