Captain's profile: Adriaan Maebane
Ben Vorster captain Adriaan Maebane has never lost to Pietersburg, so he is feeling confident ahead of their FNB Classic Clash on Saturday.
The elusive outside centre is set to play in his second Craven Week for the Limpopo Blue Bulls this year alongside centre partner Jinx Molapo, who was selected for SA Schools last year.
Maebane is expecting a tough game from Pietersburg who will feel that they have something to prove when they travel to Ben Vorster this weekend.
"They will come hard at us, they are always really up for it when they play us so we are expecting a tough game," he explained.
Ben Vorster struggled early on this season, but they have found their feet in recent weeks and are feeling fairly confident ahead of the showdown with Pietersburg.
Maebane, who models his game on All Black star Sonny Bill Williams, loves playing in the midfield as it allows him to get involved in the game.
"It is great playing at centre as you are the main man in the backline and can make the calls. You get a lot of ball and have some control over the game," he said.
Although Maebane has not decided what he will do next year, he intends to continue playing rugby and hopes to make a career of it if all goes well this year.
However, for now it is all about keeping his impressive record against Pietersburg going in front of what will be an enthusiastic home crowd on Saturday.
