Captain's profile: Alejandro Rodo

Treverton Captain Alejandro Rodo is honoured to captain his first team from Mooi River, and is excited for the Classic Clash against Weston this weekend.

The prop forward who stands in at 182cm and weighs 95kg feels he talks to his team well and that is one of his strengths as a captain. Alejandro says he will be a force in the forward pack and add strength to the scrum.

"I love playing for my school and I believe I communicate well with the players" said Rodo.

"I feel I add a lot of power to the forward pack."

The Skipper says that despite the injuries of two of their key senior players, their contingent is full, and the younger players are full of talent.

"We have a young, inexperienced yet very talented team. We’re missing two senior players with injuries, but apart from that we’ve got a full team."

The clash between the two schools will be fierce as it is an old rivalry between two schools on opposite sides of the Mooi River, and Rodo is expecting Weston to play hard, and field some powerful forwards.

"It’s always a heated clash when we play.

"I expect them to be structured, play hard and have a hard forward pack."

The Treverton captain's message to the team is : "Stay focused and work hard."

The forward is looking forward to a future in academia as he wants to continue his studies at the University of Cape Town in law.
