Captain's Profile: Brenton Fossati
It has been an indifferent year for Transvalia but captain Brenton Fossati hopes to add another highlight against Vereeniging Gimnasium in their FNB Classic Clash this weekend.
The captain has been playing some of the rugby of his life this season and is hoping that his team can stay positive this weekend even though they have had some disappointing results this year.
"We have had a few bad results but we have also had good results. Injuries have been an issue for us this year but we have always been positive and that has not changed.
"We were unlucky in the Super 16 were we lost to Nelspurit by three points and they ended up coming third so if we had won that game it could have been a lot different for us," Fossati mentioned.
So far in the prestigious Beeld Trophy Transvalia are unbeaten having won both of their matches.
"In the Beeld Trophy we have won both of our games and then we have to play Vereeniging Gim this weekend in our next game.
"They have had a good season and have also been unlucky with a couple of their results," the captain mentioned.
The magnitude of a game like this is not lost on the Transvalia loose forward.
"This is a clash between two giants and they always look out for this game in their season because if they get a win against us then they know that they have had a good season," Fossati said.
The team spirit amongst the side seems to be high and Fossati feels incredibly lucky to be leading his side.
"We have got a great team and we are having a good season. I feel incredibly privilaged to be leading a side like this," he added.
