Captain's profile: Corneil Solomons
Bergrivier SS have not tasted victory over Weltevrede SS in two years and will look to captain Corneil Solomons to guide his troop to that elusive win.
The openside flank will lead a balanced team onto the playing field and believes the breakdown battle will be a key aspect of the game due to their opponents' size.
"We have our strongest possible team available for the match. We have quite a few experienced players with a nice blend of younger ones which provides the team with a good balance.
"Weltevrede's pack is not the biggest but that means they will be quite quick at the breakdowns and contest the ball every chance they get," he said.
Bergrivier can draw confidence from a successful season which has seen them lose a solitary match and Solomons is hopeful of not adding another match to their loss column with his positive leadership.
"As a captain, I think it is important to be an example to the rest of the team so that it can bring the best out of everyone. It is my last year of secondary school, so it is a massive honour to be given the captaincy.
"I not only want to set an example on the field but off it as well so that I can be the best human I possible can be. There will be times when some guys are going through bad patches and, as captain, it is my job to help them through it and be there for them in those times.
"We have lost just one game this season and hopefully it will remain that way after this match," he added.
The 18-year-old wants to pursue a career in Information Technology while still being able to make the best of his playing career.
