Captain's Profile: Daniel du Preez
Kearsney have had a stellar season and having their captain Daniel du Preez returning from injury for their FNB Classic Clash with DHS this weekend will be a massive boost.
The captain has only been involved in one-and-a-half games this year and this will be his first game as captain this season.
"I have been out the whole season with a MCL injury which means that I have not played a lot of rugby. I played my first full game against St Stithians last weekend and it was good," Du Preez added.
It has been a great season for the men from Botha's Hill who have only lost one game this season to the countries number one side – Paarl Gimnasium.
"We had some really hard games at the beginning of the season and we knew it was going to be a tough start but we did well to come away with a couple of early wins," he said.
Looking forward to this weekend the Kearsney lock knows that DHS are always a tough outfit to play against.
"DHS are always a difficult side to play against but we want to go into the game and focus on what we do and not think about how we are going to counter them.
"We want to play to our brand of rugby and focus on what we do well. Our kicking game is good and we like to play an attractive, running brand of rugby which will be our focus on Saturday," Du Preez added.
The South African Schools second row forward has, again, been added to the Kwa-Zulu Natal Craven Week side and will be hoping to hit some form this weekend before they head off to their week in Polokwane.
