Captain's profile: Daniel Froneman
With 123 years of derby matches, it comes as no surprise that this match is the biggest event on the schools' calendars and the 18-year-old lock will look to use his Craven Week experience to guide his side to seventh consecutive victory over Dale.
"It was an amazing experience at Stellenbosch this year at Craven week. Being able to interact with all the other provincial teams was something special.
"It is an honour to captain Selborne College and to lead such a great bunch of guys into battle. I am a line out jumper, which is a huge asset. My strengths as a captain is to bring the team together when everything is not going so well," he said.
Selborne College are ranked eighth on the Schools Top 20, thanks to an impressive record of 15 wins, one draw and three losses in the 19 matches they have played this season.
"It has been an awesome season to date and our record shows that; we have scored 711 points while only conceding 353 points. The makeup of the team is quite experienced, but we will be without centre David Brits, who is representing the South African Schools side in Cape Town.
"There is going to be a lot of things happening around this match but we need to stay calm, relaxed and keep doing what they have the whole season. They [Dale College] lost their previous game [against St Andrew's] and will be looking to come back with a win. It will be an extremely hard game," he added.
The grade 12 pupil is hopeful of attending Stellenbosch University where he wants to continue playing the game.
