Captain's profile: Devon Stone

St Johns captain Devon Stone knows that his team is in for a 'tough game' against Parktown on Saturday.

The hard-working lock was part of the side that beat Parktown easily last season, but he is expecting them to come hard at his side when they meet in their FNB Classic clash.

"It is never an easy game against Parktown, so we will have to play well to beat them," he said.

Stone moved to St Johns from Trinity House in Grade 10, and has never lost to Parktown so he is keen to continue that winning record on Saturday.

The St Johns captain, who plans to study at either UCT or Stellenbosch next year, explained that his team has steadily improved throughout the season.

"We started slowly but our defence has gotten much better, with our best win coming on tour against Windhoek Gimnasium," he said.

Stone has made it through to the third round of Craven Week trials, but does not expect to make the final side and has placed more of a focus on his role as cpatain of his school.

With Parktown looking for revenge for last year on home turf, he is aware that his side will have to be on their game if they want to continue their impressive record against their rivals.
