Captain's profile: Elshaun Davids
Bergrivier captain Elshaun Davids is feeling quite confident ahead of his team's FNB Classic Clash with Weltevrede on Saturday, and with good reason.
Davids' team have already beaten their rivals this year when they faced them at a local festival in Boland at the start of the season and Davids is hoping for a repeat of that performance.
"It is always a tough game against them but we know we have what it takes to win and we must just keep our focus," he said.
Davids is no stranger to the captaincy role, having led the Bergrivier team last year when he was in Grade 11, and the combative hooker admits that he is comfortable in the role.
Although he started his career at the back of the scrum as a No.8, Davids has found his true position in the front row where he is able to set the tone for his team.
Having represented Boland at Under-18 and U19 level over the last two years, the Bergrivier skipper is loving his rugby and hopes to make more of it by attending the Boland Academy next year.
