Captain's profile: Flippie Schutte
Point High captain Flippie Schutte has stressed the importance of confidence and belief ahead of Saturday’s match against Langenhoven Gim.
“The entire year’s blood, sweat and tears will pay off if we believe,” said Schutte. “We must stick together as a group, play for each other and just enjoy the last match.”
Schutte is one of four Point High players with three seasons of first team experience and represented South Western Districts at Under-16 and Under-18 level.
Schutte packs down at tighthead and uses his 1,84m, 102kg frame to keep his team on the front foot.
“I believe I set a good example on and off the field and I get the boys going when they feel they can’t go on. I strive to encourage them,” he said of his leadership skills.
“We have had a good season but like all other teams we have had ups and downs along the way.
"The interschools match is always a very hard game. We’re expecting a very physical encounter up front and their defence will be good, so we have to find their weakness.”
