Captain's profile: Francois Nel
Daniel Pienaar captain Francois Nel is hoping that his vast experience will come in handy when his team faces rivals Die Brandwag on Wednesday.
The scrumhalf, who attended two consecutive Craven Weeks in 2011 and 2010 is currently in his third year in the Daniel Pienaar first team, so he will look to lead the way in the big derby.
Nel was part of the team that beat Brandwag for the first time in five years last year, but he knows that they will be a different prospect on home turf this week.
"We are really looking forward to the game, everyone is very hyped and psyched up for this one. You always look forward to your Matric year so we want to do well," he said.
Nel moved to Daniel Pienaar from Graeme College in Grade 10 and the move paid off as he was picked for the Eastern Province Craven Week team for two years in a row.
Although it will be tough travelling away from home to take on their old rivals, Nel is feeling good about his team's chances.
"We are quite confident, the guys were looking good in training this week. Die Brandwag have also had a good season, but there is pressure on both sides," he explained.
Although he has not decided what he wants to do next year, the Daniel Pienaar skipper knows that he would like to continue playing rugby, but for now his focus is on leading his team to a second consecutive victory over Die Brandwag.
