Despite being clear favourites, Coetzee is very aware of the hosts' capabilities. Thus, he does not underestimate Dr.Malan.

"Facing Dr. Malan is always a tough encounter. I have been part of the first XV for three years. Every year we go there or they visit us and each time it has been a hard-fought victory. This year I know would be no different.

"Unfortunately we lost our vice-captain due to injury. But we have a really young group of players, that have made the step-up to the first XV incredibly well," Coetzee stated.

Driehoek's season have been relatively good. The tour to Namibia has done the boys well and has allowed them to grow, build and bond as a first XV.

"We have had a slow start to the season. After our tour to Namibia, the guys have really bonded and built some good momentum. Since then, we have been playing better.

"Coming from a 37-0 victory over Birchleigh just added to the team's confidence. We have a very good attacking style of rugby, while the coach also emphasizes the importance of a solid defense," he added.

The lock is fully aware that his ability to motivate and inspire the team is of utmost importance on Saturday.

"As a captain I am very vocal on the field. When it’s going good I try to keep the boys focusede. And when it’s going bad I try to inspire them.

"Being the first XV captain is a big challenge to me personally, but I enjoy and relish every moment. It is an unbelievable honour," he added.

The matriculant's future plan is to study accounting at the University of Pretoria, while playing varsity rugby.  Believing each person has the power to be great, this natural-born leader hopes to one day be the CEO of a major company.
