Captain's profile: Henco Saaiman

Marais Viljoen face one of their biggest challenges of the season this weekend and captain Henco Saaiman knows this FNB Classic Clash is vital.

The boys from Marais Vijoen have had a difficult season so far and they have had to put up with some disappointing results but Saaiman is certain that they are ready to turn it around when they face Hoerskool Floida on Saturday.

"This Classic Clash is something that we always look forward to and the boys are very excited about the game and we have been preparing very well for Saturday," he said.

It has been a disruptive week for them with a number of trials as well as a looming England cricket tour but Saaiman is still confident that his side are ready for this game.

Rugby has been in Saaiman's life from an incredibly early age and he has loved every minute of it.

"I have been playing rugby since I was in Grade One and I have always enjoyed it.

"Hooker has been the only position for me, I have been in the middle of the scrum my whole life," he added.

Last season Marais Viljoen did not fair well against Florida last season but it is important for him and his side that they forget about that result and concentrate on this weekend only.

"We have a few guys that were involved in that game last year and it was not good for us so we are trying to forget about and only focus on this game.

"We want to keep our structures together and finish off well," the captain stressed.
