Captain's profile: Jason Cloete

Bellville South captain Jason Cloete will need all of his experience when he leads his team out to face Kasselsvlei on Saturday.

The skipper has played for the first team for the last four years, and having been on the winning side against Kasselsvlei for the last two years he knows what it takes to deliver in the big FNB Classic Clash.

Cloete, who prefers scrumhalf but has moved to outside centre this year in the best interests of the team, is happy with his team's form this year which has seen them lose just two of their nine matches.

"We have a good team, it is definitely better than the last two years, and we have won games that we lost before so we are feeling confident," he said.

Having got the better of Kasselsvlei for the last two years, Cloete is keen to make it a hat-trick of victories against their rivals this weekend.

"We lead the FNB Classic Clashes 4-2 over the years so we want to make it 5-2 this year," he explained.

The versatile back believes that his team's strength is their formidable forward pack, and has called on them to put Kasselsvlei under some pressure up front.

"We have a big pack, especially the front row, they have a lot of experience so hopefully they can do well. Kasselsvlei is building a good backline so we will have to watch them carefully," he said.
