Captain's profile: Jason Crafford

Klerksdorp captain Jason Crafford has never lost against Lichtenburg, and he does not intend to start this weekend.

Crafford is feeling very confident ahead of their FNB Classic Clash this weekend, and is aiming for a victory margin of between 70 and 80 points for his team.

After starting his rugby career as a hooker Crafford moved to No.8 when he was Under-16, and went on to play at the Grant Khomo Week that year.

After playing for the Leopards U19 side last year Crafford has been selected to play at the national Academy Week this year and has his sights set on playing for NWU-Pukke in the Varsity Young Guns tournament next year.

Crafford's team boasts far more experience than their rivals, and the Klerksdorp captain is hoping to make that count in front of their home crowd on Saturday.

The Klerksdorp side includes 13 Matrics, and with seven Grade 11s in the Lichtenburg pack it is no surprise that he intends to attack them up front.

Klerksdorp have been working hard on their defence this week in a bid to shut Lichtenburg out of the game, but Crafford knows that his team will be hard to stop if they manage to dominate the opposition in the tight exchanges.
